i did not say law!
i said that the gov. is about to ban fishing. this was on one of several business sites that i follow. it did say that the great lakes was included.
michael sorry to say, that when it happens, my kid would have to fit for silver bracelets.
not that i'm for the law, i'm not. i love i said love to fish for steelhead.
have you seen all the changes that involve steelhead fishing in just the past ten years? don't get me started on that one!

Why?...I mean why would the government want to band fishing?
We pay for registration each year.Only to manly catch and release. We don't even get to eat the fish anymore.....

Thumbs down

Were pretty much up the creek without a paddle cus Obama created an Ocean Policy "TASK FORCE"(doesn't that have a creepy neo-socialist ring to it) to review the situtation. The Task Force will give their recommendation of what to do(which is to ban it). Then Obama enforces it through executive order, without even a thought of what the economic effects will be(salt water fishermen contribute over 80 Billion dollars to the economy anually). What a great idea in an economic slump. Jeeeze....I cant even begin to express baffled i am. It leaves me thinking what next.

Ok , just for the record a "execuitive order" carries the same weight as a law , known as a "Full Force of Law " it can be done with fines or jail time. The first post did not state this was about one body of water but "ban all fishing in and on U.S. waters". That was what I was asking about. I have not been fishing in over ten years but would stand up to any "order or law" that was nation wide right now ! Not knowing the size , time , or reason I would love more info about this "order" . Were else can I read about this ?

Ahh yes, conspiracy theory courtesy of Mr. Robert Montgomery ESPN outdoor something or another. Not to worry, just alot of hype! ESPN should be ashamed of themselves releasing a story like that. Basics though-Obama and his new task force are about to take a real close look at abuses to the commercial fisheries that have been swept under the rug for years. Quite frankly it doesn't look good for them. For the rest of us, grab a six pack, some nightcrawlers and head over to turn three.
